It seems that there is a trend of late with customers expecting too much from service providers. As our previous post on the necessity of manners implied, people seem to be becoming a little too unreasonable when it comes to the service they expect to receive from food establishments. The primary source of said businesses would be to serve you fresh and quality meals and beverages within a reasonable amount of time. Is minding your personal belongings really part of the service we should expect? (especially once we have left the premises of their store)
Tell us what you think about how this student behaved at a Starbucks in Singapore. We feel that the staff member was only doing their job putting the student’s things away in safe place as the table was left vacant for half an hour. The full article can be read here. We would love to know your thoughts on this.

I wish they implemented a similar policy during my visit to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Robinson’s Magnolia. I understand that it attracts a large number of students from the area but when I was there with my family we had to practically grovel for seats while nearly all the tables were ‘occupied’ with bags strewn on top of tables but no obvious owner nearby. For the entire time we were there (about 30 minutes) no one claimed the some of the tables or there was one person at a table for four while five of us crammed into a table for two.

Hi Kristine! Thanks for writing! We could not agree with you more. Priority should definitely be given to humans rather than bags. Hopefully the management will educate their staff on this, especially for the benefit of their loyal patrons. Thank you for your insight. Please check out our future posts and continue to share your thoughts with us.
