Having visited a really nice brunch place in LA recently set the expectation bar pretty high as the Bottega Louie looked decidedly posh and delish!  Thanks to our good friends that brought us here.

This lovely salmon carpaccio came with a flavoured bagel of my choice which was taking a bit long to appear.  Everyone had already started eating, but I wanted my meal to be complete before I ate. (Is anyone out there the same way?)  When the bagel did arrive, it was a sesame one and not the onion one I had been dreaming about to go with the salmon.  Our very friendly waiter apologized and said he would right the errant bagel order.  Several minutes later, still no bagel.  Maybe some 15-20 minutes later (and several jokes about the bagel flying in from New York), our waiter came up to us with the onion bagel and apologized for the delay.  He said “Your dessert is on us because you waited too long”.  We were so happy because the dessert below we had picked out from the pastry counter in front was not only heavenly, it was also a pretty pricey one at $12!

Our waiter was also excellent at discretely observing our body language as we didn’t actually verbalize that the wait was a bit much for a bagel.  Well done Bottega Louie! We were very pleased with the excellent service and wonderful food.  Thank you for a memorable, dining experience! 🙂
